Sara is a proud Double-Dawg, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in five semesters with honors, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia. UGA also holds a special place of affection for Sara as that is where she met her husband, Robert. She has experience in several Public Defenders’ Offices including those in New Orleans, LA, Washington, DC, and Athens, GA. She was a law clerk for the Honorable Judge H. Patrick Haggard in Athens-Clarke County while in law school, worked as an intern in the Gwinnett County Law Department, and also for Sharon Ware & Associates (State Farm In-house counsel).

After law school she clerked for Chief Judge Juliette Scales in Fulton County handling juvenile court matters. She has also worked in the private sector on a variety of cases for both Plaintiff and Defense firms including criminal defense, tort and environmental law, construction and other complex matters. In her free time, she enjoys raising chickens and gardening with her family.
